frozen

All the freezing rain we've been experiencing for the past few hours has meant a lot of cracking from the trees on and around our property. The sound of cracking often leads to limbs snapping off so it's been a bit of a tense morning. The back yard is littered with branches, many of which we watched come down right in front of our faces from the windows at the back of the house. That was kind of a scary deal. Luckily the rain has tapered off and the wind has died down, but even still you can hear trees all over the village dropping their limbs from the weight of all the ice.

Abby and I were shocked to see the yard looking like this when we got up....

In minutes we'd added  more to the ground and there are plenty more broken off and stuck in the trees.

And branches just kept dropping at a steady rate. One took out my clothesline, but if that's all the damage we sustain I'm not going to complain. Yes, we have a hefty clean up project ahead of us, but we've kept power all day.... touch wood..... so it could be worse. Hope all the locals have minimal damage and power outages. Be safe everyone!
