A Grand Slam

Abby's still doing well with the potty training. When we showed up at the sitter's to pick her up she had a sticker. She was quite proud of herself. So Saturday morning she decides she wants to wear panties. So she picks out a pair of purple Dora undies and let me tell you that was the highlight of her morning! So we go thorugh the routine of me asking her every 5 seconds if she has to go and she keeps telling me nope. Which is her new favourite word. So even though she keeps telling me nope she doesn't have to go, you know what happens. She stands there and pees her pants. Now if my Mother was here she'd be telling you how Abby's is just like me and what goes around comes around. Then she'd launch into the "Shannon you pooped your pants story", which, believe me, has been told to death. I think we can retire that one. So anyway she pees her pants which is no big deal to be, I mean she's learning, but it really upsets her. So I tell her she can have a nice "tubby bath" to clean up.

That cheers her up. So into the tub she goes, only after making sure all the bath toys are in the tub and accounted for. We had to pause while "her nakedness" ran to her toy room to retrieve her Bath Tub Dora. So we go through the whole wash thing first and then she gets to play with her toys. So while she's playing I'm taking care of some laundry and tidying up. I'm in the kitchen when I hear her start crying, so I run back to the bathroom and she's gotten herself out of the tub and is standing on the bath mat pointing at the tub and crying. Now why is she crying you ask? Well because she had pooped in the tub. Yep that's right, pooped in the tub. Now again my Mom is probably reading this out loud to Eddie and any second now she'll be telling him the "Shannon pooped in the tub story". Then she'll probably call me to tell me she read my blog and told Eddie the "Shannon pooped in the tub story". Anyway Mike, being the nice guy he is, cleaned up the mess in the tub and I cleaned up Miss Abby and got her dressed.

We had a rental yesterday at a friend's house. When we went for the take down we took Abby with us. It was raining when we got there, but kids don't care they still want to jump. So Abby hops in with our friend's son and another friend of their's. Us adults are standing on the porch trying to keep dry when I hear. "She threw up." What!?! Are you kidding me? Who threw up? After we sort out some initial confusion it turns out it was our very own daughter who threw up in the bouncer. We clear all the kids out and Mike, being the nice guy he is, gets inside with the hose and cleans the mess up. I head inside with Abby to clean her up and get her changed into dry clothes. Tom was nice enough to help Mike pack everything up while I took care of Abby. I have no idea why she got sick, she gobbled up a piece of birthday cake while we were inside so I don't think her stomach was upset. She was fine for the rest of the night as well. Just one of those things I guess. It certainly was a grand slam day for Abby!

Movie night last night. We watched The Stepford Wives. If you haven't seen it already I think you could safely miss it. It was a very weak movie. Very disappointing for an actress of Nicole Kidman's caliber. I mean she was better in Days of Thunder. We should have watched our other option... Radio. You win some, you lose some!
