sunday randoms

Well my palm plant is still alive. I can't even believe it.

Bittersweet day today. We said goodbye to the music director at our church. Abby was asked to recite a poem the kids had written about her. She did amazing and there was some big words in there. Thank you once again Empower program.

I'm fairly certain the whole congregation sang extra loud today to make sure we sent "Belle" off right. Our whole family will miss Belle very much. Listening to her play has been one of my favourite things about Sunday mornings.

Iced coffee in the evening, while delicious, is not a good idea if you plan going to sleep at a reasonable time. Le sigh.

Busy week coming up, but then there is holidays! Here's hoping I make it.

Only 5 days until Abby and I walk in a 12 hour relay for the Canadian Cancer Society. Please consider donating and help the Jersey Girls be a Dream Team for their second year in a row.

Just checking the weather report before heading to bed and I was shocked and a little dismayed to see wet flurries are in the forecast for tomorrow. And today my bloggy bff Karen decided to remind us all what a hellish winter we lived through last year. For the most part I tolerate winter. I am not a big lover of winter sports at all, but I like cocooning inside with my blankie and a movie or a book while it snows away outside.

What, if anything, do you like about winter?

Here’s what happens:

1. I start with a question/phrase.

2. The first commenter answers that question and leaves a new question for the next visitor to answer. It could be a general question, fill in the blank sentence, a “tell me about a time when,” etc.

3. The next commenter answers the new question and provides a question for the next visitor.

4. And so forth until you’re all bored to tears. Yes, I expect actual tears before we stop (photographic evidence will do).

5. Note: I reserve the right to delete or modify any questions that, you know, rub me the wrong way. Ahem.

Well fall appears to be upon us. Mike and I spent the weekend dismantling the pool and storing it away for the winter. And just starting that general yard clean up before winter. I love fall, it could be my favourite season, weather wise anyway. I love a perfect crisp fall day.

But what's your favourite season?

Family time is important to us. One of our favourite way to spend family time is with a board game. I have always loved board games, but it's not really something we did a lot of as a family when I was growing up. I always promised myself that when I had a family of my own game night would be a big thing. Imagine how thrilled I was when Abby loved game night just as much as I hoped she would. And already Maya can be found playing Lucky Ducks and Cariboo on her own with her own set of rules, of course. And I love it. Which leads me to ask.......

Does your family play boards games? If so what are your favourites?

Ahhhh summertime. After a winter that never seemed to want to end I'm still kind of surprised that the grass is green and Abby is swimming every chance she gets. Which leads me to the pool. Quite easily the best money we've ever spent. It's far from fancy, just an easy set steel frame pool 12 feet across by 30 inches deep, but it is perfect for Abby. And Maya if we can ever get her to believe that swimming is fun. Just about every afternoon finds us out by the pool, weather permitting of course. Hands down our favourite summer time activity. Which leads me to ask.......

What's your favourite summer time activity?

So they have KitKat Bites out now. Little bite sized KitKats in a convenient resealable bag. Which, let's face it is going to be a big problem for me because I'm pretty certain that KitKat maybe the most perfect food known to man. In any of it's forms. Well except their limited edition Banana flavoured one, which was disgusting. So disgusting, it almost turned me off KitKats for life. HA! That's funny. KitKats and I are like Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, we just can't keep our hands off each other. Yeah, I've got it that bad.

So what's your favourite chocolate bar?

Well I had fun with this last month, so here it is again. The rules are the same as last time.....

Here’s what happens:

1. I start with a question/phrase.

The first question:

What is must see TV for you? Which show do you absolutely hate to miss?

Okay, I am totally borrowing this from the wonderful Michelle over at Bleeding Espresso because it looked like so much fun. Also because it's quick and easy and I am tired after a long night and day of looking after Miss High Fever Maya. All I can say about it is thank God for 24 hour children's programming and Motrin. Say a prayer she's going to be okay through the night because we both need some sleep.

And now the rules, which I copied directly from Michelle.

5. Note: I reserve the right to delete or modify any questions that, you know, rub me the wrong way. Ahem.

The first question:

Since it's still Wednesday let's keep the What's Cooking Wednesday theme going.

You can only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
