100% Ontarian... Sort of
Mike, Abby and I were out visiting some family tonight. Listening to a popular radio show on the drive there I commented to Mike that the people who called into said show drove me crazy. I enjoy the music played during the show, but could really do without the callers. No sooner had these words come ot of my mouth when somebody called in to gush about the new song that had just been played. This person actually made the statement that she was "half Texan". Excuse me? Last I checked Texas was a State, a location, a place of birth, but not a race, religion or creed. So I guess that makes me and my brother half Manitoban. You know since my Mom was born in Manitoba. Then throw in my Dad who was born overseas. What is exactly the correct term for somebody from Guernsey? A Guernsian? Am I more Manitoban since I spent a week or so there when I was a teenager? I think I finally got it straight though..... I'm part Manitoban, part Guernsian, part Polish, part English........ but wait I was born in Ontario. So that makes me Ontarian too right? I mean correct me if I'm wrong here, but I was under the impression that you could only be Texan or Manitoban if you actually lived there, but apparently I was wrong. You learn something new every day.
