Wow two updates in one day. Too bad it wasn't good news. The hospital has obviously noticed what an incredibly beautiful baby Maya is and they are conspiring to keep her and raise her as their own. Mike and I are fully prepared to still be visiting Maya at the hospital well into her teens. Official word today is Maya will remain in the hosptial until she has gone a full 7 days without a breathing episode. While it's disappointing and frustrating we do understand and appreciate how necessary the caution is. As much as we'd love to have her home here with us we really don't want to rush anything. So at this point if things continue to go well it looks like she may be released early next week. She has now gone 2 days with out a "spell" so we only have 5 more to go. We'd ask you all to pray that Miss Maya can behave herself for the rest of the week.

The one good thing about Maya remaining in the hospital is it's giving Abby a chance to get over her cold. One less thing I have to worry about is Abby passing her cold onto Maya. Abby is feeling better. Her fever is gone finally. She still has a cough but it sounds better that it did on the weekend. Abby hates to take medicine. My Mom would tell you that I was exactly the same way. Of course when I was a kid your only option was cherry flavoured and I *hate* cherry. To this day I can't stand the smell of it. So I spent most of my weekend, between trips to the hospital, trying to force grape flavoured medicine down Abby throat. It was really funny how she would spit it right back out at me if it so much as touched her tongue. In no time the two of us were covered in sticky purple cough medicine. Thankfully Grandma Linda showed up with a bottle of bubble gum flavoured cough medicine. Apparently my daughter feels about grape medicine the same way I feel about cherry. She takes the bubble gum stuff like it's a jello shooter. Just tosses it back with no crying, screaming or spitting. Thanks Grandma Linda!!
