That Abby, she's always looking out for her Mom. The little sweetheart noticed that I had a stretch of about 3 hours through the night with nothing to do, but sleep. Not wanting me to get bored with all the free time on my hands she's helpfully started peeing the bed at night. You know just to give me something to do. She some how manages to time it perfectly for 5 to 30 minutes after I finish feeding Maya her 1 am-ish bottle and slip back into bed. That's when the crying starts. She's pulled the same stunt 5 times in the last 4 nights. Oh no, that's not a typo... 5 times in the last 4 nights. Last night was a double soaker. She's never had a problem getting up to use the bathroom before, well at leat not since we put the potty in her room. And it is literally 2 feet from the end of her bed. I gotta tell you it's great fun wrestling a fitted sheet on a damp plastic mattress in the middle of the night when you're all blearly eyed from sleep depravation. Well the first night it is anyway, it becomes increasingly more rage inducing as the week wears on. I've got that whole "Cool Mom Campaign" going so I really have to push that rage back down and change the bedding and her PJ's in as much good humour as I can muster. Oh and Abby, a little FYI for ya... telling Mommy to be quiet or she'll wake up Baby Maya after you spent the last 5 minutes sobbing your head off........... loudly....... is sooo not a good idea.
Awww that Maya, let's not forget her. She's looking out for Mommy too. Since Maya is the final addition to our family she's been making sure I get the full baby experience. All the things I missed out on with Abby. We've done the thrush thing, which cleared up nicely, thanks for asking. Now we've moved on to cradle cap. Good thing she has some hair to cover up those scaly patches on her head.
Abby and her Daddy were having a snack of bbq flavoured baked rice thingys that were a tad bit spicy. I was surprised she was eating them, but she said they tasted just fine. Fast forward two minutes when she's holding her tongue and begging for a glass of water because "those things are hot and they make my mouth grumpy."
Abby's new favourite saying; "are you out of my mind?"
Yesterday's breakfast... three pieces of toast with peanut butter and mustard.
Now she wants a grilled cheese for lunch, but she doesn't want it cooked. So that would be just a cheese sandwich? Yes..... and she wants it with mustard.
