I Wish I Had Thought That Through

Well yesterday was a lovely day to be a Princess. So Abby climbed into her well used much loved Cinderella dress. Just wearing the dress wasn't enough for her yesterday. She wanted her hair done like Cinderella as well. So with my limited experience with Cinderella type up-dos I made a half assed attempt of piling her hair up on top of her head. After some consultation Abbby decided she would require blue earrings, necklace and head band just like the real Cinderella. So in a flash of genius I had this idea:

Yes folks that's magic marker. Washable magic marker of course. What the hell, I thought, it is washable. The girl wants the complete Cinderella experience who am I to squash her little dreams? So I grabbed a blue marker from her crayon box and drew on some earrings. Then I added a bracelet. For the necklace I drew a heart locket on a chain. Now if you're any kind of a Cinderella fan you'll know that was the totally wrong thing to do. No folks Cinderella doesn't wear a locket. She wears a ribbon around her throat, hence the two necklaces. Now Michael was otherwise engaged tiling my backsplash while I was playing paint by numbers on Abby's throat. He was not exactly happy with how I had been spending my time. Pshaw I told him, it's washable marker, what harm could it do. Tonight is bath night, you know. Just relax and have some fun. Abby was happily parading her cuteness outside for the benefit of the neighbours. We did do a little photo shoot that turned out some very pretty pictures.

First off a little word of advice..... washable marker is a bit of a misnomer. Despite some vigorous scrubbing with a scouring pad a hint of blue still remains on Abby's neck. So despite it being over 20 degrees here today I have her dressed in a turtle neck lest the neighbours think I've been throttling her. Secondly, and probably the most important, teaching your almost 4 year old to colour on themselves in magic marker is never a good idea.

Yes folks she did indeed colour her tongue as well. I can't wait to hear what Michael has to say when he gets home. The green really does bring out her eyes though doesn't it?

I have managed to keep 1 child 100% marker free. So I have a 50% success rate. That's got to be worth something.
