Well this has been a busy week for Maya. On Thursday while I was putting away some laundry she rolled over for the first time. She rolled belly to back which I realize isn't really a skill at this point but more of big heavy head + gravity = nature takes it's course. Even still I clapped, praised her and have been telling every single person I run into including the check out girl at the grocery store.
Here's an action shot.
So far she has yet to perform her new trick for a second time much to Mike and Abby's disappointment.
Maya has also been enjoying the jolly jumper. Actually I'm not sure who's enjoying it more; Maya or Abby. Abby has been taking advantage of Maya's somewhat helpless state in the jolly jumper and has been treating her like a tether ball.
See the somewhat devilish gleam in Abby's eye? That's because in T-3 she's going to release her grip on Maya and send her boinging back into place. Maya, for her part, laughs and coos like it's the best thing she's every experienced in her life and I guess it could be. The good news for me is this provides them both with multiple minutes of entertainment allowing me to pee a) by myself and b) with no one screaming for Mommy.
Maya has also started eating the wall paper paste-like infant delicacy rice cereal. So a good portion of my day is now spent scraping that one teaspoon full of mush off her chin and back into her mouth. Every once in a while she will actually swallow it.
Abby, for her part, has been giving the neighbours something to talk about by wearing her winter boots with her shorts.
Try as I might, there is no getting her
I promise everyone once in a while it's a little like normal around here. Lucky I have the camera for just those occasions.
