Maya's single tooth is lonely no more. Another pearly white has broken through the surface in the past couple of days. So watch out Cheerios. She's going to be a chewing machine now. As if the annoyance of cutting a tooth wasn't enough she appears to have come down with a bit of a cold as well. I wasn't exactly sure if it was a cold or if the runny nose was from the tooth.
Me: Look at her nose. It's pretty gross.
Mike: Do you think it's a cold or because she's teething?
Me: I don't know.
Abby: It's a cold.
Me: How do you know?
Abby: I'm a cold expert.
Bonus points if you can tell me which commercial she learned that from.
Her poor little nose is running like a tap and her eyes are all goopy (yes that is the medical term). Luckily she had an appointment this afternoon for her 9 month check up. The latest stats; weight: 19 pounds; length: 29 inches; the doc says she's a bit tall, but her weight is right on target for her height. Miss Maya is also right on track developmentally. The doc gave me some drops for her eyes (and Abby's eyes when and if Maya passes the infection on to her) and we were out the door. But not before our doctor whispered to me, "Are you and Mike going to have anymore kids?" Ummm... what is no, but thanks for asking. I don't know what the reasoning was behind the whispering, maybe she didn't want Maya to hear. Actually I wasn't even sure why she was asking. I thought later maybe it was about birth control, but she never offered me any, so who knows.
In other weight related news, I have managed to lose 4 pounds of the OMG weight I realized I had over Thanksgiving weekend. Which apparently Abby has found because she's finally heavy enough to use a booster and a seat belt.
