and she fished it out

Today was the day of Abby's big year end school trip. It was a full day at the African Lion Safari or Sapari as Abby calls it. The note requested they wear their swim suits as they would be spending some time at the Splash Pad. Abby, as you can imagine, was thrilled beyond belief and has been looking forward to this for a solid week.

This morning I took special care to make sure she had all the required items on the list, lunch with an extra bottle of water, sunscreen applied before school, comfortable shoes for walking, bathing suit under her clothes, towel, shirt that covered her shoulders and a hat.

I spent all day thinking about her and hoped she was enjoying herself. I couldn't wait to meet her bus to hear all about her trip. On the way home as she excitedly talked about the giraffes, rhinoceroses (or is it rhinoceri?) and lion she saw I took a quick check in her backpack and found her hat. It was soaking wet, tied up in a plastic bag and accompanied with the following note.... Abby's hat fell in the toilet. It will need to be washed. Oops! From Miss Abby'sTeacher.
