new initiative

It's fair to say I have used this space to gush about Abby's teacher before because I love her. I truly do. And believe me, my gushing is way worse in person. I just really couldn't have asked for a better teacher for Abby's first years of school. Hell, I've even gone so far as to ask her if she would mind moving on to the first grade with Abby. A request that was firmly denied, I might add. I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope she's still at our school when Maya gets to that J/K age.

Recently Mike and I have found ourselves becoming more and more involved in our school's parent council. As you may know we are trying to "pay it forward" as much as we can these days and it only makes good sense to pay it forward to our daughter's school especially since Abby's school is one of the lower funded schools. Funds are divvied out to schools at a per student rate and the enrollment at our school is on the small side.

The point of all this is to announce that Abby's school is my new fundraising initiative. You know because it's been awhile since I've bugged you kind folks for cash. Truthfully there is no pressure. Just letting you know that any donations made by using the donate link to the right will be used to purchase supplies for Abby's class specifically. It has been recently brought to my attention that Abby's teacher is spending the equivalent of three pay cheques to purchase supplies for the class. Craft supplies like construction paper, foam shapes, stickers and googly eyes are in high demand. Especially googly eyes. Every thing Abby brings home has googly eyes. It actually creeps me out a little bit. Feels like they're watching me.

Abby's Class - The Official Tales of The Fairy BlogMother cause from now until December 2007.
