As you may remember Abby won herself some serious coin from her fair entries. Now her plan was to take Papa out for "a burger and beers" (her words) to say thank you for all the help he gave her in the vegetable growing department since he really was the driving force behind it. We set the date for tonight and I, for one, was looking forward to it.
This afternoon Maya seemed like she was getting a cold. Her nose was runny, she had a bit of a cough and a slight fever. I dosed her up with Tylenol and let her nap the afternoon away. She woke up not long before we had to leave and seemed in better spirits, so off we headed. The ride there was uneventful and I used the time to check in with my Mom and convince her to meet us for dinner as well. Mike and Abby went on in ahead of Maya and I to secure us a table. No sooner had they left us on our own when Maya decided to unload the contents of her stomach all over the both of us and her beloved blanky, Linus. Mike, foolishly, contemplated going ahead with our dinner plates for a moment or two. In the end Mike and I took Maya home while Abby stayed with Papa, Grandma Linda and Granny. Maya was sick one more time, in her car seat (again), on the way home and has slept fitfully since.
As for Papa, he had to pick up the tab for his own burger and beers this time. Sorry about that Papa, we'll try it again soon. Maybe next time with a sitter for Maya.

Hi, Shan! You've been tagged. :)
now that doesn't sound like fun at all, Poor little Maya, hope she is feeling better today.
Poor Maya. Poor Poppa. Poor, poor Shan. Better luck next time with the burgers and beer. (What a sweet generous girl!)
