Case in point, on the weekend I stopped folding my millionth load of laundry to stop Maya from trying to climb on top of the microwave stand. Something that apparently pissed her off enough that she began to scream, loudly voicing her displeasure. I, in turn, laid her down on the kitchen floor and walked away. What followed was a brief moment of silence while she contemplated my actions before she got to her feet, toddled over to where I stood and gave me a swat on the behind and then she creamed some more. You know just for effect.
One thing she started doing a while ago when she was really ticked off, was clenching her fists and literally start shaking with frustration. The first time she did it, Mike looked at me and asked, "is she turning into Baby Hulk?" Referring to the TV show where the mild mannered man would sometimes get angry enough to turn into a large and very green Lou Ferrigno. And we laughed. And the more we laughed the more Maya did it, so now it's nothing but a joke she will do on command knowing she's guaranteed a laugh. On Saturday recognizing she had a brand new audience Maya threw down some incredible Baby Hulk, much to Heather's amusement. Luckily she also had camera in hand and snapped the, best to date, Baby Hulk picture.
Which she appropriately made green. I love this picture because Baby Hulk is one of my favouritest (yes it's a word, because I say so) things. It never fails to make me laugh. It never fails to make Maya laugh at us laughing at her. She's growing up so fast that before I know it she won't be willing to play Baby Hulk any more, no matter how much I beg. Hopefully that day is still off in the future, but when it comes I'll have this picture to remember the magic.

Better establish a firm but loving and united stand for this girl. She'll be a teenager before you know it. Willful kids can become happy successful adults, and their parents can survive with minimal collateral damage. Hold fast to this thought, and keep laughing.
ROFL!!!! That is hilarious. At least she doesn't bust out of her clothes like the hulk. That could get expensive. ;)
She's a little sweetheart!!
ha!!...cute post Shan!!...
Thanks Roxie. I actually think she's more frustrated than angry most of the time. She just wants to be able to do all the things her big sister can do, but she can't. Plus she's been slow to talk and we can't always understand what it is she wants. Thankfully she is now starting to use the sign language I've been trying to teach her for the last year or so.
Merry - yes it would. I have been trying to get some video of it because it is seriously funny.
Thanks Suzel, I think so too.
Thanks Darlene. Missing you!
