Now where was I? Oh yes, the knitting. Well my plan was to attempt all 6 projects in the book, the last being the hat. So I cracked the first project off in no time flat really. Okay I may have unraveled it a time or three, but once I got in the groove, I had it done in no time.
I was clearly born to be a knitter, so I advanced myself to the head of the class and skipped all the projects in between coin purse and hat. I will admit I was a little nervous especially when it said you should have some experience before attempting the hat, but then I reminded myself I'd just spent the last couple of months knitting scarf after scarf after.... you get the picture. I had done thousands of knit stitches and although I had never purled before the coin purse I picked it up pretty quickly. So I went for it and TA DA...........
Not bad, huh? Huh?
In further news this is a big day for the family. Today, my brother finally solved the Rubik's Cube he got for Christmas. We're all very proud and I'm hoping this means his next visit will look a little less like this....

nice hat!! Shan you are very talented.
way to go dave......
It must be in the jeans lol
Great hat!!!! I see that you still haven't gotten the new haircut, though. :)
Oh you're funny Mom. That's genes, not jeans.Unless you really meant jeans, then I don't know what in the hell you're talking about.
Thanks Merry and nope, no time for a hair cut yet. Robin and I are actually going to make a night of it and go for dinner too.
It's sweet of her to get you a gift of a haircut. On the other hand, growig out a short haircut can be a pain. How much do you want to fuss with your hair? You look lovely as you are. Maybe if I saw a picture of the intended style . . .
Yay for the knitting! Good work!
wow, i am impressed!!
LMAO!!!! if I could post a picture with this comment you would die...I have the exact same photo..taken with my camera at our gathering...that and a photo with Dave and his new book "All Families are Psychotic" I'm sure he's not talking about you though...or me for that matter lol.
Thanks Roxie, I very likely won't go that short. Although I plan on it being much shorter than it is now, but still long enough that it can go in a pony. That's the plan, we'll see. And thanks about the knitting. I am quite proud of myself. One day I hope to knit as well as you.
Thanks Darlene, smooches!
Now why am I not surprised Heather? I thought it was very funny that every time he put the cube down, which wasn't often by the way, Maya would scramble it up again. Kids are the best. And you're right there was no way he could have meant us.
