what i love about sunday #4
Today Papa and I were sharing the back pew at church. The kids had departed for nursery care and Sunday school. I had the hymnal in my hand and as I do every week I attempted to open it to the exact hymn we would be singing next. Not even close, I was about a hundred hymns off, but then that's pretty typical. I rarely get close, but it's a little game I play with myself every week. As I thumbed through a hundred hymns trying to get to the correct one I can see, out of the corner of my eye, Papa gesturing with his hymnal. I lean towards him and he whispers, "Look I'm off by one. We used to play a game when we were kids and try and open it to the right page. I'm only one off."
You know if I hadn't been 100 hymns off in my own game I would have told him I was playing too.
Know what else I love about Sunday?
Them.......
The girls sitting on the steps of our church.

That's so funny. I play that game too!
I love the girls' dresses.
Cute picture. Love their dresses. Cutie-pies. :)
What a great story, very sweet! Great dresses too!
How cute are they??!!!
What I remember from church as a kid is having to stand up and have to sing along with songs I'd never even heard before (there's a ton in there, a kid can't have heard them all!!) and have to sing along anyway as if I did because it was rather frowned upon to just stand there. So there was me, a half word behind everyone else so I could halfway attempt to sing along. LOL!!
Let us know when you're one page off! It's bound to happen sooner or later!
Awhh I love the dresses!!
Karen - Ever gotten right on? Thanks, from the Children's Place of course.
Mommy - Thanks I love them too.
Melissa - Thanks
Leah - We're not that fussy here. Sometimes I sing, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I stand, sometimes I don't. It's entirely kid driven in our pew anyway.
Kaci - Thanks.
