in the dark of night

Well we just have eras ending all over the place. This past weekend Abby decided that she didn't need her night light anymore and slept all night.

In the dark.

I say this in awe because I was in my 20's before I gave up my night light. I am not a fan of the dark. Or the things that go bump in it. In fact when Mike and I were first married he used to work nights. Leaving the house in the early evening and arriving back home in the pre-dawn hours. He worked nights for a few years and every night he was gone I would have to sleep with not only a light on, but the TV as well.

David Suzuki would not have been impressed.

Way to go, Abby girl!! You are years ahead of your Mommy! ;-)

I'm not a real fan of the dark either! When my husband is working late, or gone at night, I am very paranoid and find myself getting sucked back into childhood fears that something is under my bed... LOL (and I'm not joking!)

Way to go Abby for being a brave girl! Emily sleeps with a light-up ballerina crystal thing that spins around and isn't so much a "nightlight" in the true sense of the word, but IS something that lights up her room at night... The boys haven't needed anything so far, and I discovered Emily doesn't NEED anything either (because she managed ot sleep JUST FINE at a friend's house a few weeks ago without it!), but she likes it
