what's cooking wednesday - the let down edition

It seems I've fallen victim to the exact malaise that generated this whole experiment. I'm just not all that excited about cooking these days. I'm not exactly sure where it's coming from. I'm thinking it has a lot to do with how busy this past month has been. And Abby being in school everyday has been a bigger adjustment for both of us than I had anticipated. And then we have Maya and the issue of toilet training which is going awesome at the sitters not so hot here at home. Actually more like nonexistent here at home. Oh and did I mention Mike was having surgery on Friday which will have him home recovering for a month? So we've been trying to focus on stuff that needs to get done before Friday, like taking down the pool, before he's no good to me.

All this to say I've got nothing for you today. And I felt tremendously guilty about that until I remembered it was my game and I get to make the rules. And rule number one is the BlogMother here gets to take a week off whenever she feels like it. The good news is I have friends who's lives are a little more together than mine is right now and I'm hoping they'll take care of you today.

Enjoy, and I promise something delicious next week. Maybe a soup..... it's that time of year!

I found out about this through Michelle's Bleeding Espresso blog. Here is my first WCW post. Looking forward to reading the other recipes.

I'm back baby!

You totally deserve a break. You don't have to make any excuses. Get Swiss Chalet or something and settle in for some good t.v.

Good for you! You shouldn't feel guilty ~at all~. Best of luck to Mike...I hope everything turns out well. Shan, if you need anything at all while Mike is "no good to you" be sure to let me know.

Enjoy the break. Sometimes you just need to walk away for a few days to get re-energized. :)

good luck with the surgery stuff and the potty training with Maya (Connor flips back and forth between doing FANTASTIC and then going back to square negative ten..ha ha)

we all need to take time off from time to time, no one will mind or hold it against you

nyc - welcome to WCW!

Karen - Yay! I missed you! Thanks. I did relax tonight. My house looks like a bomb went off in it, but I got a few more inches done on my latest scarf and rotted my brain with some Dirty Sexy Money.

Normie - I'll pass the message on to Mike. And thanks. I'll give a holler across the way if need be. You're the best.

Becke - Thanks I think you're right.

Kaci - I will.

Leah - Thanks. It's nice to know some one feels my potty training pain.

Jen - Thanks.

Darlene - I'll try to be better :)

Suze - thanks my friend.

I'm late to the party (both this week and to the meme itself) but thanks for having such a great idea and being so consistent with it!

Sorry things are so hectic in your life right now. I'm sure people will understand - it's your game, your rules!

Widney - I'm praying for that too. Day one down, it was a little rough, but not too bad. Bedtime for the girls was a little hairy, but we made it through.

Boots - thank you and welcome!
