blog this #6

Just checking the weather report before heading to bed and I was shocked and a little dismayed to see wet flurries are in the forecast for tomorrow. And today my bloggy bff Karen decided to remind us all what a hellish winter we lived through last year. For the most part I tolerate winter. I am not a big lover of winter sports at all, but I like cocooning inside with my blankie and a movie or a book while it snows away outside.

What, if anything, do you like about winter?

Blog This rules:

Here’s what happens:

1. I start with a question/phrase.

2. The first commenter answers that question and leaves a new question for the next visitor to answer. It could be a general question, fill in the blank sentence, a “tell me about a time when,” etc.

3. The next commenter answers the new question and provides a question for the next visitor.

4. And so forth until you’re all bored to tears. Yes, I expect actual tears before we stop (photographic evidence will do).

5. Note: I reserve the right to delete or modify any questions that, you know, rub me the wrong way. Ahem.

Until last year, I really liked winter. I liked the coziness indoors, playing in the snow, occasionally cross-country skiing, definitely tobogganing. After last year, as you know, I'm not as keen.

So, the forecast for here today? 15 cm of snow by tonight! AGH!

Oops, forgot my question. If you're a morning person, what do you love about early mornings? If you're a nighthawk, what do you love about late at night?

I would be a morning person, the best thing about morning is the first cup of coffee with some French Vanilla whitener in it. Mmmmm everything seems much better after that.
You know up north here isn't calling for snow at all. Well maybe a 40% chance. Perhaps southern ontario should move north to avoid the snow ;)

Now for my question, since I am on a chirstmas kick at my house,
When do you start shopping for christmas?

We celebrate Christmas at Thanksgiving with my family, so my shopping gets done early for that half. For Marty and Max? Max is almost done and I have no idea what to get Marty.

Question: As I sit hear drinking my morning juice, what's your favorite thing to drink?

Vodka with anything. OJ, lemonade, sprite, just about anything and vodka and I'm good.

Question: What is your favorite Christmas CD/song, and why?

This isn't a Christmas song/cd per se but I love the soundtracks to Love Actually and The Holiday -- they are both holiday-ish without being too much.

If you could spend winter somewhere other than your home city, what would it be?

Hmmm...I'd like to spend some time in the States so I can visit with my old (I mean DEAR!!) pals, Mony and Vicky. I miss them. :(

And...I just have to answer the Chistmas songs one!
Call me crazy, but I just love "Fairytale of New York" by the Pogues. It may sound harsh at first, but I think it is actually really sweet...
"I kept them with me, babe
I put them with my own"...
awwwww...makes me want to cry.

What is your favourite, family, Christmas tradition?

I'll close out this edition of blog this and answer Normie's question.

I've always really enjoyed the "pirate Christmas" we have on Christmas we have on Christmas Eve with my cousins. I'm sorry we can't fit it into our holiday schedule anymore.
