It's bed time and the girls are both in Maya's bed ready for me to read them a story. It's a book that Abby brought home from the library this week. The story is about a monster who's just welcomed his new baby sister into the family. He is very eager to play with his baby and gets out all his toys and games. When he finds out the baby is too young to play with any of these things he asks.....
What can you do with a brand new baby?
I pause there and put the question to Abby.** "What can you do with a brand new baby?"
She looks at me and looks at her sister before answering, "Wait until they're two years old and then you can play with them! That's what I did."
** Asking questions during our story time is part of Abby's "reading homework".

And we have that book. Little Critter!!! I bought it when I was pregnant with Jared and Emily wasn't quite two years old. very cute book.
Abby sounds like a hoot. You must just be giggling all the time around her (reminds me of my Jared!)
