So I bought myself a box of that new Perk tea by Tetley. Have you heard of it? It's orange pekoe tea with caffeine equal to the caffeine in a cup of coffee. I routinely stay up too late and suffer from bouts of insomnia every now and then and there are many days when getting through that after school/dinner hour is a real struggle for me. I am not a huge coffee fan, but I love love love tea. So this perk tea seemed like it would be a great solution..... you know instead of maybe going to bed at a reasonable time on a regular basis.
So I bought it and I could feel the difference right away. I was more alert in the afternoon. I'm trying not to abuse it, sticking to one cup a few times a week after work. Then tonight happened. I slept poorly the night before and was trying to get everyone fed and out the door for choir practice by 6:30 and I was dragging my ass, so I made myself a cup to take with me.
The clock has ticked it's way up to 1am now, so I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that a fully caffeinated drink at 7pm for a caffeine drinking newbie was a huge mistake. Oy.

Agh. I ride the insomnia roller coaster too, so I feel your pain. Also, why doesn't my brain want me to drink tea? I regularly think "I'm going to make a cup of tea" and then a few hours later realize it never happened. I need a tea servant!
LOL! I have never had a problem with caffiene thank goodness. Doesn't keep me up or nothin. ;P
no caffeine for me after 5!
