I like to think I am a fairly competent cook and baker, but sometimes even the best laid plans...... as they say. This cake, I could feel just wasn't coming together right from the beginning. In fact part way through the process I had already dubbed it the Titanic. Luckily I had a loaf of pumpkin bread in the freezer that I added to the spread and I had time to whip up a batch of homemade ice cream. Apparently my family says it tasted good despite it's appearance, but I was not game to try, so I'll assume they were being all kinds of polite and I thank them for it. That's what I get for trying a new recipe out for Thanksgiving dinner.
