So Canada just won Gold in the men's freestyle moguls. Abby and Maya were up watching and cheering like crazy for Canada to win. It was looking promising for a little while there that we'd have two Canadian boys up on the podium, but hey we won't complain that we only got one. Unless you live under a rock or you don't watch the Olympics... which I'm sorry I just don't understand at all and I'm not sure we can be friends anymore...... then you know that this is the first Gold won by a Canadian while the Olympics have been played out on Canadian soil. So woo hoo Alex Bilodeau! Good for you. And if you know me at all then you have to know I was all weepy at the shots of his family in the crowd and the story about his desire to have his older brother Frederic, who has cerebal palsy up on the podium with him... well shoot... that just about did me in.But this post is about bigger and better things... cookies. Look at that deliciously gooey rolo center. Mmmmm. I think I'm going to bake a batch right now. Except that it's 10:45 pm and I already made pink lemonade cupcakes. Well I did it. Today is the day my Etsy shop goes live. I only have two items currently listed, but today didn't go quite like I had planned it. That quiet time during Maya's nap I thought I would have to set it up somehow evaporated. It's funny how that happens once kids appear in the picture.
So I have opened shop with my beaded bookmarks that I love to death. Grandma Sandi had given me one for Christmas and I feel in love with it. It is seriously the best bookmark I have ever used. I never misplace it. It never falls out of my book. The kids don't bother with it. Simply perfect. In the future you can probably expect some knitting. You all know how I love to knit scarves. Oh and watch for more bookmarks.
