What an exciting Monday night we've had. We went shopping. At Wal Mart. For groceries. Let the good times roll! Mike was a little crusty tonight although he claimed he wasn't. Just to prove it to me he ran into Abby with the shopping cart. I mean full force right in the face. Talk about screaming. Of course right at the front doors of Wal Mart so he had a nice big audience. Mike felt about 2 inches high. That really knocked the bad mood out of him in a hurry!
Now Abby's getting to the age where we let her help out with the shopping. We let her pick out the odd treat. Tonight it was a wind up shark tub toy. (I mean that was the least we could do after her father gave her a concussion.) Mike and I remember playing with those types of toys when we were kids and didn't realize they still made them. So that little plastic toy at the cost of $1.93 made her a very happy little girl. We also let her pick out her own fruit treats. Those little bags of gummy candy are like gold around here. They can ward off a temper tantrum, convince her to do something she doesn't think she wants to do, they really are magic. Tonight she's checking out all the different boxes Princesses, Lion King, Shrek, Winnie the Pooh and so on. Would you believe she picked Batman treats? She's never even seen Batman before, but she had to have them over all her favourites.
Move on to the toiletries aisle. Time for some Abby bubble bath and shampoo. I grap her de-tangling shampoo and Dora bubble bath because Dora is her reason for living. No Mommy, want Batman. Yeah that's right, Batman bubblebath. She had to have Batman bubblebath, with the free lip balm. I pointed out the Dora bubblebath and asked are you sure you want Batman? Yes I want Batman. Even the lady shopping beside us was laughing. So now I have a 8 inch plastic figure of the caped crusader standing watch over my bathroom counter.
Latest in the Abby concert series: Dance to the Music from the Shrek soundtrack and Don't Worry from Shark Tale.
Tonight she wore an outfit that was size 18 to 24 months. It's crazy how small that kid is!
