Well yet another Christmas has come and gone. This time with my very bestest friend Robin and her crew. We were all spoiled again as usual. She's a much better friend than anybody deserves.
I got the Oprah DVD box set which I very much wanted. I do love Oprah. Mike will try and tell you he hates her, but it's one big huge lie. I also got the 10th season of Friends. Between that and the 6 seasons of Seinfeld and the first season of Will and Grace I got this Christmas well that will be more than enough to keep me entertained while I'm up with a hungry baby in the middle of the night. I realize we have a satelite dish, but even still you get to a point in the middle of the night that there is nothing of interest on. How many Ron Popeil infomercials can one person be expected to watch. The scary thing is when you've gone without sleep some of the crap starts to look like a great deal.
Mike got the Dukes of Hazzard, the movie which he was seriously Jonesing for. He saw it in theater with a bunch of high school buddies. Reliving the glory days they were that night. Whenever I feel like pissing him off I start complaining about how Jessica Simpson ruined the role of Daisy Duke. He also got a new calender and a red t-shirt. This is the second year in a row that Tim's picked out a red t-shirt for Mike and I gotta say it's a little disturbing. Nothing against Tim or red, but Michael only really wears blue, black or grey. You know just like a bruise. Just in the last couple of years he's started to throw a little bit of green into the mix. To go from that to RED well it takes a little getting used to.
Abby got a my Little Pony that sits up and lies down. You can feed it a bottle or give it a sucky. It's a bit interactive asking for a kiss or it's hair brushed. Abby loves the way it wakes up, sits up and says "Good morning Mommy. I love you." She was completely excited that she was the Mommy. She also got a gross of Magic Pegasus Ponies, mini ones. The greatest part is the wings actually stay on these ones. Now that is magic, I wish they could teach the big Pegasus how to do that.
Mike, apparently having learned no lessons from past experiences, told Abby this morning that Robin, Tim and the girls were coming for dinner. So all day she kept asking, "when are Kailey and Breanne coming?" "are you sure Kailey and Breanne are coming?" "I don't think Kailey and Breanne are coming." And then we'd start again with "when are Kailey and Breanne coming?" Thankfully they finally showed up and Abby was so beyond excited she really didn't know what to do with herself. She was running from one end of the house to the other screaming "they're here, they're here," at the top of her lungs. Poor little thing cried her eyes out when it was time for them to go. She refused to say good bye to any of them. I figure she thought if she didn't say good bye then they couldn't leave. Aww a child's logic. The same logic she used the other night after she got in some major hot water for breaking one of my Christmas presents and she told me she didn't want to be a big girl anymore, she wanted to be a baby because babies don't get in trouble. She's a smartie that one.
So that almost wraps up Christmas. Just one more of my favourite people to cross off my list. Hopefully we can get together next weekend and take care of that. Then it will be time to put all the Christmas stuff away and start getting ready for baby. Only 32 days left of work and 46 days until D-day. We'll have to see how true that is. Luckily I found out this time around that I can apply for my mat benefits online from home. With Abby because she surprised us early it was a scramble to apply at EI after she was born. Hopefully this time I can have my claim filed before the baby shows up.
