Well today was exactly that, more of the same. We went down to visit Maya with Dave and Mel in the early afternoon. While Mike and I can visit 24/7 the rest of the relatives can only visit between 11am and 8 pm. So it threw or usual schedule off a bit and by the time we got there we had just missed her feeding. Maya was already back asleep so Mel and I hovered over her cot for a while and then we headed home. Dave decided he was going to cook dinner for us again tonight so we made a short stop at the grocery store on the way home.
At about 5 pm Mel and I decided to go back down to the hospital sans the men. The nursery and the hospital in general was very very quiet this afternoon. There was another Dad visiting and then Mel and I and that was it. Maya was sleeping, but I took her out for a cuddle anyway. So there Mel and I sat for 2 hours passing her back and forth, rarely speaking. It was a great way to spend the evening. Just when we were getting ready to leave she woke up and demanded her bottle, quite loudly I might add. There's nothing wrong with that girl's lungs. She was screaming the house down. So I settled back down with her and her bottle. She powered the whole thing back in no time and went right back to sleep. Then Mel and I headed for home.
Abby had woken up the night before with a fever and a cough. When Mel and I got home she was dozing on the couch and I could tell by her bright pink cheeks that the fever was back. I managed to convince to take 2 Tylenol meltaways (chewable Tylenol that "melts" on kids tongues) but I noticed the Motrin she took last night actually worked better in bringing her fever down. The pain in the ass about it is, she'll take the Tylenol easily, but the Motrin (grape liquid) she hates. She's due for a dose of something soon, so wish me luck. I hope she's feeling better by Monday when/if Maya comes home. Otherwise on top of everything else I'm going to be worried about Maya getting RSV.
So with Abby not feeling well she slept on the couch while the rest of us had the dinner Dave cooked for us. Dave, again, made a great meal. He's actually become a very good cook despite his tendency to cook copious amounts of pasta and rice. He says he even enjoys it. Tonight he made us an Indian dish that I can't remember the name of. Yummy. Even Mike liked it and Mike's is not the adventurous sort at all. Good thing he did since we have a ton of leftovers.
And now it's time to try and get some medicine in to my sick little girl.
