F****n Food

Disclaimer: I am a BzzAgent. The kind people at the Central Hive supplied me with this product in exchange for my honest opinion and as much Bzz as I can generate.

Frozen Food doesn't have to be a bad word. Well that's what the folks at Knorr Frozen Entrees would have you believe. They have recently released a line of frozen meals. This isn't anything new. Frozen meals in one form or another have been around for many years. I mean we've all heard of TV dinners. This product doesn't quite fall into that category though I'm afraid. First off it comes in a bag, not a microwaveable compartmentalized tray. You may have noticed the eye catching green bags in the frozen food section of your grocery store. When you open the bag all the ingredients are jumbled up together. The sauce is frozen into little pucks, the noodles coiled into neat bundles, generous amounts of meat and veggies are all jostling around for position.

Yes all of the new Knorr Frozen Entrees are pasta dishes. Actually they are "chef inspired" pasta dishes. None of that chicken fingers/salisbury steak/processed turkey TV dinners you're used to. These are dishes I would expect to see on the menu of an idleness restaurant. Dishes like Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Spinach & Ricotta Cheese Ravioli, Shrimp Asparagus & Penne, Roasted Chicken & Linguine and Grilled Chicken Alfredo. Now if you were to order one of the preceding dishes at your favourite dining establishment you would expect high quality food. I'm hear to tell you that Knorr Frozen Entrees deliver that same restaurant quality taste at a fraction of the price.

Now I know what you're thinking, if it's that high quality, it must be pretty complicated to make. Nope, not at all. These dishes can be made quickly and easily in your microwave or in a skillet. All the items are flash frozen so they cook evenly in minutes. Knorr Frozen Entrees are perfect for the people that enjoy great food, but don't have time to be in the kitchen all day. Or maybe you just don't like to cook. Or maybe you love to cook, but you'd just like to take it easy. Whatever. Knorr Frozen Entrees are perfect in all those scenarios.

So let's cut to the chase. I'll tell you what you really want to know. How much do they cost and am I getting good value for my dollar? Well the suggested retail price is $8.99 for a 680 g package. It gives you two decent sized servings. I highly recommend a salad and bread to round out the meal. While these Entrees are restaurant quality they aren't restaurant sized portions. For the taste, quality and ease of use I think it is a good value for our busy hectic lives.

Fair enough.

I agree about the "F" advertising. I am looking tonight for a place to complain about it - and here you are - and I am glad to see I am not alone.

Kay I'm not exactly sure how I became the place to complain about this.

I suggest if you have issues with Knorr, their marketing campaign or their product you contact them directly.
