Well today is the day. The big anniversary. Ten years. A whole decade. Boy that went fast. It's been a pretty amazing 10 years and I wouldn't change a minute. If you had asked me 10 years ago where I thought we'd be now, this wouldn't be it. Not even close. Standing here now, I have to say this is way better than I could have imagined.
I know you're all dying to know how we spent it. What extravagant and romantic evening did we have planned?
Well our tenth anniversary extravaganza included taco salads at Wendy's and the annual Cactus Festival Parade in Dundas with Robin and the girlies because we know how to rock it.
It was actually just how I wanted to spend the evening. Who doesn't love a parade? Plus Grandma Linda was back marching with the drum corp after being on the DL for the Santa Claus parade. So we had to go represent.
Plus I learned a lot at the parade. For one, Kramer's often mentioned, but never seen friend Bob Saccamano not only exsists but is currently the President of the Rockton Fair Board.
That Papa is easily distracted and while he is Maya ingests half a piece of paper. And apparently I am able to attend a parade without an lawn chair incident. Who knew?
And lets not forget my favourite part of the parade. The "old-men-in-short-shorts-band. It's vision and worth the trip to Dundas each and every year. The question that begs to be asked is, of course, why so short. Why do the shorts have to be so short? You know these old guys don't tolerate such short shorts in their everyday lives because they were all showing off several inches of pasty white thigh. For some unexplicable reason they're willing to suit up in these ridiculous shorts and march through the city. And I love them for it.
