Okay folks, let's pretend for a minute that you're me. And you have a mother who will be turning... oh I don't know, let's say 56 in a few days. And, just for kicks, let's pretend your 4 year old daughter thinks Granny should have a birthday party. So, hypothetically, you get in touch with your out-of-town-brother. Well actually the wife of your out-of-town-brother because the bro is impossible to pin down, but the sister-in-law holds a steady 9-5ish job so you know where she is. At least for part of the day. And then say the daughter thinks we should invite some of Granny's friends. And it's all good, until it hits you. These people will expect to be fed.
So, again, hypothetically speaking what would you feed them? I mean it's a well documented fact that I likes to get my cook on, but I just can't seem to figure out what to make this time.
Some suggestions; lasagna (my signature dish, but maybe a little over done at this point. Don't want people saying... oh great we're going to her house and she'll feed us lasagna.. AGAIN!!), a bbq (hey it's the end of the summer aren't well all getting a little sick of bbq's?), a roast (a possibility if I can find a suitable sized roast that I don't have to dip into Abby's college fund to purchase) or maybe something else I haven't thought of yet. So what do you think folks? Dessert is easy. I mean it's a birthday (hypothetically) and birthday dinners = flan. Am I right?
