Look What I Can Do

There's been a lot of talk about Abby around here these days. I'm sure most of you have forgotten we have another child. Her name is Maya and she's 8 months old. Maya's at a bit of a disadvantage since she's a pretty easy baby, so she kind of blends into the wood work. When I take Abby to the bus stop in the morning she sits contentedly in her stroller with a smile on her face for any and all who look her way. While the other younger siblings run around the stop or are busy finding other ways to make their presence known Maya just sits quietly back and drinks it in.

Now when she's not being the most well behaved baby at the bus stop she's very busy learning new things like this:

She has become an absolute pro at sucking in her lips. She can keep Abby and I amused for ages doing this. You think it's a funny picture? You should see it live.

Maya also has her hands full keeping her big sister in line.

Abby *has* to give Maya no less than 37 hugs her day. They're not just any kind of hugs, but "big squeezy hugs" and Maya never misses an oppurtunity to grab a handful of hair and hold on for dear life.

She's not crawling yet, but she has perfected what Uncle Dave has dubbed the wounded soldier and drags her self around the house combat training style with impressive speed.

I wish I had seen how she got herself into here.

So how close is she to crawling? This close:

I know that the quality isn't all that great, but you get the idea. She will do this for ever, but can't figure out just how to actually move forward. Mike says she'll be crawling in a week, but he's been saying that for about 4 weeks now.

I'll close with a picture of Maya with the kissing bandit.
