Well I sent Abby off to school this morning with a note for her teacher that requested she call me when she was free in regards to the incident involving Abby and the two older boys. Her teacher did call me back promptly at the ned of the day, but confessed she had no idea what I was talking about. So I relayed the story to her about Piglet being taken from her and thrown over the fence. I told her that according to Abby her teacher had dealt with the boys and sent them to the principal's office which didn't actually happen apparently. Now what I think happened there was when Abby intially told me what had happened to Piglet I asked her if she had told her teacher and she said no she hadn't. When I asked why she said because they were bigger boys. So I tried to impress upon her that it was very important to always tell a teacher right away if something like that happened. That was when she changed the story to say she had told her teacher.
Now Michael did find her Piglet a good 20 feet over the fence so her teacher and I are in agreement that Abby certainly didn't throw him there herself. I did give her the names of the boys and she promised that it will be taken care of. She went on to assure me that nothing of that nature would ever occur without a phone call home to let us know what was going on. Also if they had known at the time about the Piglet incident the caretaker would have gone right then to get him back for her. She filled me in on how Abby is in the classroom and that she had noticed today she looked tired and was quite fidgety. We talked about Abby's sleep issues; how she needs a lot of sleep, that she has night terrors and a baby sister who likes to wake the whole house up at 2 in the morning. In the future she'd like me to send a note in to school on the days Abby's had a bad night so she's aware of what's going on at home. So for now I guess we can close this chapter on Piglet-gate.
