Santa vs. Grandma

Well according to Michael Abby's Advent calendar being on top of the fridge was "bothering him" so he moved it to the counter. Anybody see where this is going?

Yep, while I was showering she ate her entire Advent calendar, minus two days. I'm not exactly sure why she left those two days. Maybe the guilt got to be too much. When I got out of the bathroom she rushed to me sobbing and confessing. She was inconsolable for quite some time, laying across our bed crying her heart out.

Me: Abby why are you crying?
Abby: I'm just upset about myself.
Me: Because of your calendar?
Abby: Yes. Are we going to have Christmas?
Me: Of course we are.
Abby: Am I going to get presents?

I have no idea why she has this obsession with Santa's "naughty or nice list". I have certainly never pushed the idea that she has to behave because Santa is watching. If she was a little bit older she'd realize that Santa isn't the one she should be concerned about pissing off.

Abby: Mom, what does my shirt say?
Me: Look out Santa, here comes Grandma
Abby: Which Grandma?
Me: Umm... probably all of them

After seeing the empty Advent calendar on your flickr, I was eager to come home and read your blog - I KNEW that face looked guilty!

Oh yes, that is one guilty face. She was so upset with herself it was almost funny. So it was light work in the discipline department. I really don't think she could have felt worse.
