There are a lot of great blog names out there in the blogosphere. Some of favourites in no particular order are;
bleeding espresso... a regular commenter here and my first What's Cooking Wednesday participant. Who also in a flash of brilliance wrote a similarly veined post on Friday. It just further proves the theory, great minds think alike. Much like myself, sognatrice received a bevy of comments in regards to her blog name and how it came to be.
Virtually There, another regular commenter here. I love hers because don't we all feel like that sometimes?
Bread Crumbs in the Butter, have I mentioned that I want to be Chantal when I grow up? Oh wait, yes I have.
I also love MUBAR, Postcards from the Mothership, Kerflop, Mom to the Screaming Masses. Oh I could go on and on.
So after I had been blogging for a while I was considering, after my brother's strong recommendation, to move on over to wordpress. If I was going to move I needed a new start, a fresh look and a new name. One night while I was annoying Mike with my complaining, he shot out, how about Tales From the FairyBlogmother. Which made me laugh instantly because I have always been a big Cinderella fan. In fact we even had a Cinderella wedding. Don't worry it was very subtle. Although we did have a glass slipper on a pillow.
And I may have pretended to misplace my shoe,
So here we were years into this "fairytale" marriage with a little girl who was also a Cinderella/princess freak and it just seemed to fit. It was a couple of minutes later I blurted out, "hey know what the tagline should be?" And just like that a tagline was born. Really the kudos must go to Mike since the whole fairy blogmother concept was his. And this was not his first time bestowing a name upon something other than the kids of course. He did the exact same thing when Grandma Linda and I were trying to decide on a name for our basket business. Mike blurted out Two Basketcases and it stuck. Before you get too impressed I'd like to point out that just minutes ago he was asking me for the egg beater, but what he was actually looking for was the pastry blender.

I've always liked your blog title and the tag line, too!
(thanks for the shout-out!)
Hee! I love that you had a "subtle" Cinderella wedding. I've always loved the name of your blog!!
Thanks Dani and you're welcome. Any time.
Sass - the things you think are a good idea when you're young. And thanks, glad you like it.
I've always loved your blog name and tagline too...oh that Mike! Funny that we were thinking on the same lines about the posting too ;)
Yeah the idea had been forming in my head all day Friday at work. So I had quite a chuckle to myself when I got home and checked out your blog.
Thanks.
