i'm funny and it's crazy

This is a big year for Abby at school. This year she is a big kid. She is in Senior Kindergarten and, well there are a whole lot of bells and whistles that go along with being in SK. Or at least that's what I hear. Mainly from Abby. And so far it's all been about Crazy Sock day.

Yes last Thursday was Crazy Sock day, which should be pretty self explanatory. This would be the first in a series of "Crazy" days. I am expecting Crazy hair day any time now, but for htis week it was all about the socks. Now Abby doesn't own any real crazy socks. I mean they are just socks, how adventurous could they be. She does, however, have several pairs of funky tights (thank you Granny) that I suggested she may like to wear. This was met with a stern shake of the head and the assertion that Miss AbbysTeacher said sooooockkkks Mommy, not tights, soooockkkssss. Emphasis on the socks. Oh but I am the clever Mommy. I quickly picked up the note and pointed out that it did in fact say socks and big socks (wink wink nudge nudge). And everybody knows tights are nothing more than big socks.

So this is what crazy sock day looked like in our house. Now I feel I must explain the tights to you because, even people who saw them in real life had trouble with them. They are brown and cream stripes, alternate pattern for each leg. And now you aren't seeing things, where the two colours meet there is fringe. It is short and understated fringe, but fringe it is. Since the tights are a lot of WOW we went low key with the jaguar print skirt and mud tone shirt with multi coloured buttons. No question, she is a fashion diva.

Well have you heard the news? I am funny. It's official.

At least my beloved Darlene from Auntie Dar's Life thinks so. Thanks for the award Darlene, you're the best.

Those socks are incredible! I have a sock fetish myself, so I happen to be a bit jealous right now indeed....

And yes, you're definitely a funny duck.

Forgot to say that being a funny duck is better than being a dunny...ahem. G-rated.

Honestly, she'll be in the pages of "Little Fashion Diva" before you know it. She knows how to work the outfit.

Congratulations on the award. You fit the bill (ha...bill...)

Darlene - I'm sure she will and you know Granny will buy her many.

Michelle - You're a funny duck yourself.

Roxie - Thanks, my Mom's pretty great. Abby claimed they weren't the craziest ones there, but I don't see how that is possible.

Suzel - yes she doesn't. And thanks, you're a funny one too.

Those socks are amazingly funky! What a sense of style Abby has.

I wish there were more dress-up days in the grown up world.
