po-tay-toe po-tah-toe

Abby, home from school is hungry, no wait... starving for a snack.

Abby: Mom, I'm hungry. Can I have a sardine?
Me: A what?
Abby: A sardine. Can I have a sardine?
Me: You want a sardine.
Abby: (clearly exasperated with me) Yes!
Me: I don't think you know what a sardine is.
Abby: Yes I want one.
Me: We don't have any. (I must go on record and say a sardine has never graced the inside of my house because.... blech!)
Abby: But I had one for lunch. Like you made it with the cheese and the meat with no crust.
Me: Honey, that's a quesadilla.
Abby: Yeah, I want a quesadilla.

Abby is pretty lucky that she didn't ask for a sardine someplace where sardines were actually available!

Too cute. Makes you wonder who she heard talking about sardines earlier.

*LOL*

Whew. I was worried about her when she wanted a sardine. So glad that's not what she was really asking for!
