what's cooking wednesday - cake mix cookies

I don't know why but the arrival of fall always makes me want to bake. Now baking isn't really my first love. It's too an exact of a science for me, so I tend to stick to easy or tried and true recipes. I can't remember now where I got this recipe from, but it's super easy and great for baking with kids. Oh and it's chocolate... 'nuff said.

Cake Mix Cookies

1 box chocolate cake mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1/2 bag chocolate chips

Mix all ingredients together. Drop by spoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes.

Recipe Notes: Yep that's it, easy peasy lemon sequeezy. We used the baking m & m's instead of chocolate chips. I plan of experimenting with peanut butter and butterscotch chips as well. Abby loved helping make these. Judging by how fast they disappeared I have to rate these cookies off the chart.

What is What's Cooking Wednesday and how can I play?

What's Cooking Wednesday was born out of a desire to get out of that "what's for dinner" rut. Playing is easy, wait until Wednesday rolls around and post a recipe that has been tried and tested by you. Pictures are always appreciated, but not necessary to play. Then drop me an email or leave a link in the comments letting me know you played so I can add you to the WCW weekly master list. And don't forget to link back here, the home of What's Cooking Wednesday.

I hope you're happy. I just had to run out and buy cookies--no cake mix in the local grocery store, but I'm going to have to find some and give this one a whirl.

I lurve cookies.
