I realized the other day that things have been surprisingly meme-less around here. I found this one over at Sidetrack'd and decided to give it a go.
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper, although the recyclist in me cringes a little. Earlier on the year I had grand plans of making reusable gift bags out of white pillow cases that Abby painted, but that plan never saw the light of day.
2. Real tree or artificial? one of each usually. The show stopper tree is always a real one. This year it's a very large real one. Like, can't fit the angel on the top, big.
3. When do you put up the tree? The beginning of December
4. When do you take the tree down? The weekend before tree pickup garbage service.
5. Do you like eggnog? blech!
6. Favorite gift received as a child? definitely the comforter
7. Do you have a nativity scene? yep, a couple
8. Hardest person to buy for? Papa and Granny and Maya
9. Easiest person to buy for? Abby
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? nothing really stands out
11. Mail or email Christmas cards? a little bit of both
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? How the Grinch Stole Christmas (live action), Elf and Christmas Vacation.... oh and Polar Express
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? in the summer
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? i have, yes
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Grandma Linda's sausage stuffing, my Mom's cabbage rolls and I miss my Grandma's belgian cookies. Nobody else can make them like her.
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? clear on the fake, coloured on the real and clear outside.
17. Favorite Christmas song? Silver Bells
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? We do very little traveling over Christmas
19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? absolutely
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? nothing, there's no room, we do have the angel on the TV though
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the 27th this year.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? rude shoppers, newsflash cranky holiday shoppers, we're all here trying to accomplish the same thing and a little kindness to your fellow man goes a long way. I'm just sayin'.
23. What I love most about Christmas? being with my family, giving gifts and all the great holiday food.
I'm not going to tag anyone, but let me know if you do decide to play.

Thanks for playing along! We always had two trees growing up - one real with colored lights and one artificial with white lights. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
What is Boxing Day anyway? Is it more gifts? If so, I'm going to start celebrating it!
Soooo - name all those reindeer! You don't like eggnog? I love eggnog. I also love all your snow pictures of you and your kids in your header - too cute and so much fun! Take care. Kellan
Thanks Jana, same to you.
Suze - Boxing Day is the 26th of December and a stat holiday here in Canada by way of England. That's what we get for being a Commonwealth country. Back in the Victorian Era the rich would box up gifts to bring to the poor. In shopping terms it's our Black Friday. See I told you I was an expert in Canadiana. It's not a traditional gift day, but with multiple grandparents we spread them out. So it's Papa and Grandma Linda Christmas day, Grandma Sandi Boxing day and Granny on the 27th this year.
Kellan - I can't get egg nog past my nose. Mike loves it though. Thanks I appreciate the kind words.
