I should have been in bed long ago, but I still have time to share a tiny moment with you.
A couple of years ago Papa and Grandma Linda gave Abby a gorgeous china tea set that came in it's own wicker picnic basket. I will admit she doesn't get to play with it very often. I usually send her in the direction of the plastic dishes, especially now that Maya wants to play as well. Tonight Abby pointed out that she never gets to play with her tea set. I will admit, I was tempted to say no. To tell her it was too delicate, too fragile to play with, that Maya was still up and it wasn't safe, but I stopped myself. Instead I said okay. We got it out, unbuckled the plates, filled the tea pot with water, however I did draw the line at filling the sugar bowl. Maya may have spilled hers all over her jammies, but we had lots of clean dry pairs so there was no harm done. They even had their before bed snack with their tea. It was the perfect tiny moment in an ordinary day.

Oh, I would love to have a set like that! What a sweet delight!
Emily has a tea set my IL's got her at an antique store. I made them keep it at their house because I was POSITIVE that my then 18 month old child would destroy it within one day at our house. It was her favorite thing to play with AT THEIR HOUSE, and every single little teacup has been dropped and the handles have broken off and been glued back on and she doesn't love it any less. LOL
That looks like a perfect way to let two little princesses spend their evening before bed! I'll bet the loved it!
PS...NO JOKE, the code I have to type in for my comment to count is "teapyt" rather close to TEA PARTY, eh? lol
What kind of items are you looking for? What is an example of something you have secured that you think is cool? I may have something for you.
sounds like fun.
It is hard to stop and just enjoy the moment sometimes.
Roxie - it is very pretty.
leah - so far we've been lucky with ours. Even Maya was relatively gentle with it. Ha! That is close to tea party. That's so weird.
Julie - I get excited about every little thing that I can get donated. So far I have a bath set, dinner for two at the local horse racing track/casino, passes to a local sight seeing cruise, and some passes to other local attractions. Probably the one that has excited me most though has been the Eat Shrink and Be Merry cook book that I managed to get the authors to donate. Not to mention all the other requests I have out and the many more I have to send out.
Angels - it's true. You get caught up with the dishes and the laundry and so on. It was a great tiny moment.
