maybe i spoke too soon

Tonight Abby and Maya were playing with the play-doh. Things were going okay until it came time to clean up. It is times like these when their four year age difference is very apparent. Abby was taking issue with the division of the work load. Not surprising when you figure she is doing the lion share of the cleaning.

Abby: I didn't even want a baby sister!
Mike: Abby! That isn't a very nice thing to say.
Abby: Well I didn't. And I think we should give her away.
Mike: And just who would we give her to?
Abby: I don't know. Some other family that doesn't have a baby.

I'm thinking the fundamentals of what's important in life still need some work.

I tried to give my younger brother and sister away up until 3 years ago. I'm hoping Abby will come around a lot sooner than I did :)

My sister and I are 5 years apart. We came together and grew apart in cycles, until we were in our 20s! ;-) Good times, they are a comin'.

Maddie tends to do more than Jamie when it comes time for clean-up, too. Jamie likes to play the "I'm too little" card. Maddie has never threatened to trade her in...but she does *not* want another sister. :-/

You let your kids play with Play-Dough? You are a rocking mommy. Motor Mouth put it in the carpet 2 years ago and knows he is not allowed to have it again until he is 6 yrs old. That's in 6 months - I should've said 8. Who knew the kid would remember!

My sister is 6 yrs older than me and the polar opposite. It wasn't until I was in my 20's AND moved out of the house that we became best friends.

Mini Me creates the messes and poor MotorMouth has to do the major clean.

Mommy Project - If Maddie thinks a baby brother will be more helpful, poor thing, she is in for a BIG surprise. LOL.
