what's cooking wednesday - bbq peameal bacon roast

I love when the weather gets warmer because that means it's time to barbecue. We use our barbecue a lot, weather permitting, and I am always on the lookout for new recipes to try.

peameal bacon roast

1/2 cup barbecue sauce
2 tbsp grainy mustard
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp cider vinegar
1 1/2 lbs whole peameal bacon roast

Preheat barbecue to medium high heat. Combine the barbecue sauce, mustard, maple syrup and cider vinegar in a bowl. Brush a third of the sauce over the roast . Grill, turning and basting often, for 10 minutes. Turn the burner directly under the meat off and set the remaining burner(s) to medium-low. Close the lid and roast over indirect heat, turning and basting occasionally for 30 minutes or until cooked through.

Recipe Notes: This was really great. The glaze was the perfect tangy/sticky mix. I used a maple flavoured barbecue sauce and dijon honey mustard. It is definitely going into our summer rotation.

What is What's Cooking Wednesday and how can I play?

What's cooking Wednesday was born out of a desire to get out of that what's for dinner rut. Playing is easy, on Wednesday post a recipe that has been tried and tested by you and then pop over here and add your name to the Mr. Linky. When entering your name also add the name of the recipe in brackets and make sure you link to your What's Cooking Wednesday post and not just your blog's front page. And don't forget to link back here, the home of What's Cooking Wednesday.

So for example I would write Shan (Speedy Chicken Stir Fry) in the name section. For the URL section I would post this: http://shanrev.blogspot.com/2007/10/whats-cooking-wednesday-speedy-chicken.html

I'll let you in on a little secret, my WCW recipes are almost never made on a Wednesday. So feel free to cook and photograph whenever you have time and join us posting on Wednesday

Shan, this looks amazing. We opted for the McDonald's McHappy Day ($1 from each Happy Meal, Big Mac or McMuffin goes to youth programs) so no WCW this week, sorry!
