knowing me, knowing you - october

Time once again for that monthly interview project - Knowing Me, Knowing You.

1. Crunchy peanut butter or smooth?

Smooth peanut butter all the way. And it must be Jif, which they apparently don't sell in Canada anymore. Anytime we hear of someone crossing the border we beg them to bring us back a few more jars. Many thanks to friends, my Aunt and my Mom for helping us out with that. Even the kids can tell the difference. My-Pie asks for the peanut butter in the red jar and if I try to sneak Kraft peanut butter past Abby she gives it back saying it doesn't taste right.

2. Do you do any volunteer work? (No judgment, just curious. I'm always on the look out for new ways to get involved.... like I have time for more stuff.)

Mike and I are both on the Parent's Council at Abby's school. Mike as co-chair (with the lovely ML) and me as secretary. We also help organize the school's fundraising dinner/silent auction/penny sale - setting up, gathering donations, delivering the goods and cleaning up. I knit scarves for a local agency. Mike is the second vice president with our local agricultural society - working his way up to president in the next two years as well as the numerous sub-committees he sits on in addition to the school fair, which is/was his biggest fair commitment. And I have just taken over prize tabulation and scoring for the school fair portion of our local fair.

3. What's your favourite cold weather drink?

I am a tea lover, so green or peppermint is always good with me. In the winter I love hot chocolate. It's even better with a peppermint tea bag in it. Trust me.

4. What is your favourite holiday?

Christmas! I love everything about it. The baking, the wrapping, the family time, jammie days, the 25 days of Christmas. Love it!

5. Okay quick - you gotta hop a plane right now, to anywhere with anyone - where do you go and with who?

I'm taking my best girls and we're headed out to Vegas to go all "The Hangover" on that town. You know in a refined ladylike way. Ha!

So now the rules, they're pretty simple. Post your answers to these questions on your own blog in the next few days. Remember to link back here in your post and sign the Mr. Linky too, so we can all see what you have to say. Please make sure you link to your actual KMKY post and not your blog's front page. Any front page links will be deleted. And most importantly, have fun! Have suggestions for next months questions? Leave me a comment or send me an email and let me know.

Thanks for posting. I have it scheduled to appear.

You make me look like a slacker in the volunteer department.

Hey Shan. Sorry I put in the wrong link for the first one! It's the second that is the good one.

Like Widney Women said, you make us all look like totally slackers on the volunteering front! ;-)

I like the mint tea idea in the hot chocolate. I'll have to try that. It's the pg13 rated version of my After Eight hot chocolate (with a shot of creme de menthe!)

Hey Shan,

Thanks for an opportunity to write something silly and fun on my blog.
