knowing me, knowing you - march

Well it's that time again.... time for that little monthly interview project that I started that I like to call knowing me, knowing you. Why not play along with us?

1. Do you play a musical instrument?

You know, I wish I did. Guitar would be my first choice followed closely by the piano. I have zero musical ability, but that doesn't stop me from singing all the time. In the privacy of my own home of course where only my family is subjected to the horror. Sure I could take lessons, but when would I find the time for that?

2. Do you have a set of every day dishes and a set of "good" dishes?

I have to say I've never been much of a good dish kinda girl. I've never lived in a house that had a separate formal dining room. Growing up we only had one set of dishes, a set we picked up piece by piece at the grocery store. I can still remember the display that was at the store across the street from our house. When Mike and I got married I picked out a relatively plain pattern of Denby china. I love my Denby. I don't think we've lost a single piece of if and you have to know that Mike is a guy that drops stuff. Lots of stuff. I won't tell you how many times I've had to restock the glassware. Thanks to a Christmas gift from Papa and Grandma Linda we do have a good set of china, that I try to remember to get out occasionally. I'm surprised at how much I've enjoyed having them. Makes those special occasions seem just a bit more special.

3. Chocolate milk or white?

White, always. As much as I love chocolate and I do so very much. I cannot stand chocolate milk. Blech.

4. What time do you usually head up to bed?

Usually around midnight. Although I am finding as I'm getting older, I really can't keep that pace up all week, 5:30 comes early yo. Perfect example, Mike and I had plans to watch a movie last Friday night, but I was out like a light on the couch by 9.

5. Do you hang your toilet paper over or under?

I actually rarely change the toilet paper roll. Maya seems to think it's her sole purpose in life to make sure the toilet paper roll gets changed and I am more than happy to leave that chore to her. Since she's four it's a total crap shoot which way she's going to put it in every time she does it. And I am completely fine with that.

So now the rules, they're pretty simple. Post your answers to these questions on your own blog in the next few days. Remember to link back here in your post and sign the Mr. Linky too, so we can all see what you have to say. Please make sure you link to your actual KMKY post and not your blog's front page. Any front page links will be deleted. And most importantly, have fun! Have suggestions for next months questions? Leave me a comment or send me an email and let me know.

1) Yes I play the flute. I took 10 years of classes but that's been more than 15 years ago already. Help.

currently I sing in a choir.

2) We have a ridiculous amount of plain white dishes. My husband had his own set of Ikea plates, so did I and since my husband used to work/communte abroad where he also had a small studio....we've actually merged 3 household sets into one. We always joke we should start a catering business or buy some new dishwashers as there is no way we can ever run out of clean plates or cutlery.

Yet i'd love to have a fancy set, but it seems so outrageous to buy more. Sigh.

3) regular milk ...I'm a weirdo who does not like chocolate at all.

4) 11 PM. it used to be later but I'm getting older too :)

5) on top...and yes I've already 'corrected' rolls

hihi quite original questions I must say!

I have just started learning the guitar. I am not very good yet but it is fun. You should try it.

Yes and I agree anything that the children do to help is great

Okay, I'm in play. I think. I'm a bit of a link loser. Hope I did it right. Thanks for a post topic -- I needed one.
