All thanks to Granny of course who had the great idea to spend the afternoon at a local campground. She packed up a little picnic lunch, grabbed some blankets, shovels and pails and we were off.
I hadn't been out there in years and I really don't know why we don't go more often. The water doesn't get too deep too fast and there lots of shade to be found under the large trees near the water.
Maya loved digging around in the sand and once I remembered we had water wings in her swim bag she was dog paddling around behind her sister trying as hard as she could to keep up.
Abby who is very likely half mermaid spent hours and hours in the water swimming here and there and then back again.
Thanks Mom for a fantastic day... how could I tell it was a fantastic day? Well we came home water logged, exhausted, not sun burned and with butter tarts! So yeah... best day ever. Hope to do it again soon.
