friday high five - dear santa

Only about 5 months until Christmas... do you think it's too early to start writing my letter to Santa?

So for this Friday's High Five.... the five things I'd most like to see under the tree this Christmas

1. A Kobo!! My sister in law got a Kindle earlier this year and I have been pea green with jealousy ever since. I like the Kobo over the Kindle largely because it's compatible with the local library. How awesome is that? My bank account and Michael would thank Santa forever.

2. An ice cream maker. How much fun would that be?

3. Old Navy gift cards. So I have a reason to put together a shopping trip with some of my best girls.

4. DVDs! Modern Family Season 1 or 2. Season 6 of The Office. The Flight of the Conchords. Season 2 of How I Met Your Mother.

5. Passes to the movies. Love going to the movies, but we never go with out the movie package from Costco.

What will you be asking Santa for?

May I honestly say that I believe it's mad to already think about Christmas...in my culture, there's discussions that christmas trees & publicity etc etc should not be visible before December (also because we first celebrate Sinterklaas in Dec 6).

I don't think of Christmas before mid-December. That leaves plenty of time. But we don't shop for presents either, just gather for several days with family

This has nothing to do with Christmas. I finally managed to get my KMKY links connected to your entries. For some reason I was not able to cut and paste to do it and the url was too long to type. But they are there now!

I got an ice cream maker for Christmas last year and it's been a lot of fun. My kids are allergic to milk so I've been experimenting with a lot of alternative ice creams and it's been great - it can also make things like slushies and Orange Julius (YUMMY). One thing I will say is that frozen leftovers get pretty hard, so you have to thaw them for a while before serving. So the best use is to make up a batch on the day you're going to eat it - for a party or BBQ or something - and then don't leave any leftovers :).
