touch a truck

So I know you're all dying with curiosity, just wondering what the latest project is that I am working on. It's Touch a Truck. I know... what the heck is Touch a Truck?

Well it is an event that was organized by the seven local public schools last year. They arranged for dozens of large vehicles to be displayed around the local fairgrounds and kids of all ages were encouraged to get up close and personal with all the equipment. There was a helicopter, fire trucks, EMS, horse trailer (Abby's favourite, go figure) and lots more. Or so I'm told. I didn't get much further than the fundraising booth we ran for the school.

Crowds were huge and our corn "sand" box was a busy place. It was really one of the most fun things that I have been a part of. So when the seven schools weren't interested in keeping it going I helped to move it from the schools to our local agricultural society. We put together a committee and here we are knee deep in planning and organizing.

So on top of helping to organizing the main event I'm also helping to organize the fundraising booth for the school. We'll be selling balloons and letting kids play in our corn "sand" box.

How can you help? Well if you're local please spread the word about Touch a Truck. It takes place on October 22, 2011 from 10am - 3pm at the Ancaster Fairgrounds. Come find us on facebook and like our page. Please come on out in October, it's an event you won't be disappointed with especially at only $5 per kid... adults are free with a child admission.
