fabulous

We play fabulous every time we get in the van to go somewhere. My kids love it so much they play it every time they get in anybody's car.

How do you play fabulous?

It's pretty simple.... anytime you see a yellow car be the first one to yell out fabulous. School buses and construction vehicles don't count, but anything else is fair game. I wouldn't have thought there were that many yellow vehicles out there before we started playing.

ML taught my girls this game about a year a go and they've been playing it ever since. It's great for long and short car rides.

Do you play any car games?

Ha! We play the EXACT same game but we call it BINGO!

Funny thing, I was going to make a blog post my own self about this, ahem, FABULOUS game.

We even have the same rules - school buses and construction equipment doesn't count.

Martina is the Queen of this game - we usually play in teams because individually, she'd be virtually impossible to beat. Not to mention, it's easier to keep score with just two teams.

yellow cars? Hmm I would also expect that it would be pretty quiet in the car. Maybe I need to play to find out in Belgium (and I look out of my office window and there it is FABULOUS!) .

I used to count Belgian cars when abroad and wave to Belgians. At Christmas time I count christmas trees. When going through tunnels I'd close my eyse before we got in (at the sign naming the tunnel & showing it's length) and then I had to guess the distance in the tunnel

JC - See I knew you were a good guy as soon as I met you. Abby is our rock star although she's always lobbying for a never ending game so her totals carry on rather than starting a new game every time. She'd be ahead by a few hundred points so, not surprisingly, nobody is going for that idea.

Goofball - I thought so too, but there is a surprising number of yellow cars out there. Although that could just be a Canadian thing.

We play the same game but my son called it banana poke, or bee sting. And you have to be the first one to poke the person sitting next to you when you see a yellow car. Kind of like Punch Buggy. There are tons of yellow cars out there. I was surprised too!

That is a "fabulous" game! I'm going to adopt it. Thanks for the great idea.

We just learned a new game thanks to my BIL - "Beaver". Everytime you spot a horse, shout "beaver". It can get quite noisy in farm country. However, if you pass a graveyard, be the first to yell "Bury your beavers!" and everyone loses their count except you. Quite funny and addictive.

My son just said it is a lot better than punchbuggy - too many bruises.
