It's that time of the year again.... parent teacher interviews. They were pretty much exactly what I was expecting. Both girls are hard working, polite, well behaved and progressing along nicely, but one is having a much easier time of it. All the things that Abby has struggled with in school are the exact things that come to Maya with such ease. It can be a fine line to walk as a parent in helping them both reach their potential. Words and actions needs to be chosen with care so there can be no perceived slight against the other.
We talked about what we can do to challenge Maya and what they'll be working on going forward. We talked about what we can do with Abby to strengthen her skills and to keep her from getting frustrated with the work. I left the meetings feeling great and so thankful for our lovely little school and the wonderful teachers we have there.
