spotlight

It's no secret that we are fond of volunteering here in Blogmotherland, but here's the thing..... once word gets out that you are the type of person who is willing to work for free (of all things), well you would not believe the kinds of offers that come your way. I'm not going to lie, we've had some pretty fun adventures in volunteering and sometimes it offers the opportunity to add some new skills to the old resume.

We have very good friends and some of those very good friends have kids who figure skate. Typically kids who figure skate have a figure skating carnival to show off their skills to their adoring public. You know what figure skating carnivals also require?

Spotlights! And dudes to run them. Yep, Mike realized a life long dream of being a lighting technician while helping out some very dear friends. Win win!

And because we like to be supportive, we came out to see some of the very best in figure skating and spot light wrangling by people we actually know and love a whole lot. Again, win win!

I triple love figure skating and I am a sucker for little kids showcasing a new skill they are learning. And one of my very best girls is in this show up to her elbows and it was so super cute and well done that I busted with pride because I get to call her one of my people. It was not a bad way to spend a weekend!

How was your weekend?
