Even The Best Laid Plans

Well the plan was for Abby to go for a sleep over at Grandma Sandi's so I could have a day off. Mike continues to be concerned about my sporadiac sleep patterns and thought that this would be the perfect solution. With Abby off having the kind of fun a kid can only have with a Grandparent I would be free to sleep while Maya was sleeping. Too bad he didn't bother to let Maya in on the plan. Instead of her usual routine of eating and sleeping today, of all days, she decided to mix it up and wasn't happy for any length of time anywhere but on my person. Hours Shannon spent napping, zero. I couldn't even get a shower in, but I did manage to get dressed so I consider that a small victory.

To make it a perfect day Abby came home tired and cranky. She coming down with a bit of a cold so every little thing with her led to an argument and crying. It was a trying evening. It was worth the fight with her to have her in bed by 7:30. She was asleep very shortly after despite her "I'm not tired" protests. Maya fell asleep just before 8 and I tempted fate by putting her in bed. I bought myself about 30 minutes of free time, which I spent loading the dishwasher and making bottles. At that point Maya was up again, but was back to sleep soon after I picked her up. We had a repeat of the poop Olympics again here tonight and she seemed a bit better after firing a poop stream across the laundry room. It wasn't nearly as impressive as the first time, so no pictures. She actually made her shot while I was getting a wipe from the container and she hit the wipe dead on. So what she lacked in distance tonight she made up for in accuracy.
