It's all About Abby

Well today went much better than yesterday. Probably because we didn't attempt to leave the house as a group today. No we figured it would be better to stay in. So we did laundry and vacuumed. Maya and Abby played some hide and seek. Maya definitely had the advantage. She's so small you really can hide her anywhere. Abby though, cheats and only counts to three before coming to find you. On the flip side though when it's her turn to hide she usually tells you where she's going to be. If she doesn't you bet on the following places; behind the shower curtain or under the table. When it was Maya's turn to hide Abby would demand that she hide in her car seat under a blanket. But then she is, by her own admission, just a little bit bossy.

Speaking of bossy she also asked that we change Baby Maya's name to Princess Odette. I have no idea where she came up with that. Oh no wait, it was probably has something to do with watching The Swan Princess 8,524 times since she borrowed it from my Mom. I tried to make her return it tonight, but ever thoughtful, my Mom told her she could keep it. Have you ever seen the Swan Princess? Well the Evil Enchanter casts a spell on Princess Odette that turns her into a swan when the moonlight hits the lake. All Abby talks about these days is Princess Odette, Prince Derek, the Great Animal and that the kiss will break the spell. So she asks Mike if we can change Baby Maya's name and Mike, not surprisingly, tells her no we can't. She then proceeds to fling herself on the couch crying. It was an impressive display. I mean it was teenage level drama. She's still campaigning for it. She's been on the phone most of the day trying to drum up support.

When not working on the Maya/Odette issue Abby has been consumed with her birthday. June isn't that far away people. So she's been discussing the guest list all day. "I want Papa and Grandma Linda to come to my party. I want Kailey and Breanne to come to my party." Now she's requested a Strawberry Shortcake cake. I told her to tell Grandma Diane. Last year Mom made her 3 Dora cakes. So Abby officially made her request for a Strawberry Shortcake cake tonight. The poor thing thought that she and Mom were going to make it tonight. So I explained to her that Grandma would have to get the cake pan first. So now she wants to help Grandma get the cake pan. I hope she's not planning on keeping this up until June.

Maya decided to pull a fast one on me today. She had been having a bottle around midnight, sleeping until 4 ish then having a bottle. After that we'd both go back to bed and the three of us would get up around 8 am. It was a pretty decent schedule to my way of thinking. Today she decided to mess things up and woke up hungry at 10:30. So I have no idea what she's planning on doing tonight. Of course she'd have to mess with a perfectly good system on a Sunday night. Mike has to work tomorrow so I wouldn't wake him up. He was great this weekend and took turns getting up with Maya. What a treat to sleep more than 4 hours at a time. Love him!!
