My Two Babies

Again I'm trying not to think about her coming home too much. Makes me feel a bit sick to my stomach. Mike and I were the only parents in level 2 visiting tonight. I took a little inventory and 7 babies have gone home in the time Maya has been there. There's only 2 babies that have been there for at least as long as Maya has.

Abby has been getting increasingly difficult to deal with. She wants me to carry her almost all the time. She totally ignores Mike and I when we're speaking to her. She's really playing up the "baby" angle. All of the sudden she wants to be the baby. Which isn't surprising at all, but still annoying. The last two days we can't keep her out of the baby stroller. Tonight she asked Mike if they could play "babysitter". We weren't quite sure how you played that game. Apparently it goes like this; Abby climbs in the stroller and cries like a baby then Mike has to push her around the kitchen. She enjoyed this game so much she tried to rope Papa into playing it tonight when he was over. I can't wait until Maya comes home and we can work through this "new baby jealousy thing". I was totally expecting Abby to have an adjustment period, but the extended hospital stay, I think, has amplified the situation. Of course I could be wrong and the whole thing could get worse once she's home. Who the hell knows? I am looking forward to finding out though.

We took some more pictures of Maya tonight. So click on Abby and check them out. I got Mike to take a picture of her ears. She has the cutest ears. You'd probably call them spock ears, or elfin or pixie-like. I'm not sure if that's something that will change as she grows or if they'll stay that way. I'm rather ignorant on the subject of ears with the exception of never put anything smaller than an elephant in them. At least they're both shaped the same way. And unless she favours the Sinead look her hair will likely cover them. Hell it almost does now.

In closing, on an unrelated note, I am addicted to Smartfood popcorn. Seriously, it's sickening.
